SEO Manager - Vancouver, BC

In this brand new role, you'll take the lead to develop a comprehensive SEO strategy for the organization and all of our client platforms.  You'll also be responsible for leading the creation of SEO plans, and for actioning daily SEO activities. Our ideal candidate is an SEO technician-guru with a deep knowledge of SEO best practices in e-commerce industries. You've been successful at building an SEO strategy almost from scratch in the past, because you'll be analyzing our situation and identifying the necessary steps for PNI to successfully adopt optimal SEO practices.

Key Accountabilities:

Working cross-functionally with our Technical, Development, Product, Marketing, and BI teams, you will:

  • Develop a detailed SEO strategy for our retailers: Costco, Staples and Sam’s Club

  • Implement actionable, scalable SEO improvements across all of our platforms

  • Identify and develop on-site SEO strategies to drive the most valuable traffic

  • Develop and implement ethical off-site SEO strategies

  • Develop, compile and present SEO guidelines

  • Monitor and analyze SEO reports, fine-tuning practices as necessary

  • Analyze keywords and SEO techniques used by competitors, as well as review and analyze client sites for areas that can be improved and optimized.

  • Prepare full site audits and work with development team to correct any existing issues

  • Keep updated on white hat and black hat SEO strategies to avoid stay within search engine guidelines

  • Strategize and ideate high-quality keywords and written content topics to use on client websites and for off-page public relations and link-building efforts

  • Work closely with content writing resources (both internally and on client-side) to produce high-quality content in line with SEO strategy

  • Anticipate and prepare for Google algorithm changes, working proactively to minimize impact

  • Develop an understanding of the client's business to ensure their organic search campaigns are delivering against identified goals

  • Manage and develop a team of dedicated SEO specialists

Experience and Skills Required:

  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science, SEO, Marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years in SEO, content growth and SEO, all in an e-commerce setting

  • Able to think beyond tactical SEO execution to deliver high-level strategic recommendations for best-in-class SEO

  • Successful implementation of an SEO strategy

  • Proficient with SEO platforms (e.g. MOZ, WebCEO, Ahrefs, Majestic, SEMrush, Google Optimize)

  • Proficient in Google Analytics, understanding reports to support SEO initiatives

  • Experience working with and writing product specifications for developers.

  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS is a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically, and identify and resolve problems

  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills

  • Ability to work within a team and independently

Senior Marketing Specialist - Vancouver, BC

PNI’s Vancouver, BC office is looking for a Senior Marketing Specialist to help support our client marketing initiatives by planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns and programs.  Working with autonomy, and owning the success of your assigned clients, this role plays a vital role in being the direct owner of 2 to 3 PNI Media client marketing portfolios.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop day-to-day marketing relationships with assigned client accounts.

  • Create and implement annual Marketing Plans for assigned client accounts.

  • Write creative briefs for creative development and manage projects through to completion, while working with internal copywriter to create engaging content

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies for products

  • Coordinate design, production and implementation of online marketing campaigns and promotions

  • Use a data-driven approach to create digital marketing strategies for clients

  • Plan, maintain and update internal and client marketing schedules

  • Support business decisions by providing product, industry, market, and competitive analyses

  • Analyze clients' websites sales performance, usability, competitiveness, and marketing effectiveness and provide recommendations

  • Report, track and optimize digital marketing campaigns

  • Regularly create client facing presentations

  • Proactively document and create a library of competitors' marketing activities

  • Become the internal brand evangelist for assigned client accounts.  Build and manage relationships with internal teams: creative, product management, account management, development, etc.

  • Work with Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing & Accounts to identify product and marketing opportunities

  • Assist Marketing Manager in implementing process improvement initiatives as necessary

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing

  • 3+ years of experience in a senior marketing specialist or junior marketing manager type of role, with E-commerce or digital marketing responsibilities.  Agency experience is an asset

  • 2+ years of experience partnering with Tier 1, global or national brands is an asset

  • Ability with and experience in driving business strategy, product roadmaps, marketing requirements, and marketing campaigns

  • Experience managing external creative and digital marketing agencies and suppliers

  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook skills

  • Strong Google Analytics and product performance reporting skills

  • Competency in SEO, PPC, email and social media best practices. 

  • Basic HTML knowledge is an asset

  • Extremely well organized, detail oriented, creative, and energetic

  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills in English

  • Able to travel occasionally in Canada and the US for client meetings

Digital Merchandising Specialist - Vancouver, BC

PNI is in search for a Digital Merchandising Specialist with proven experience in optimizing product positioning and seasonality that drives overall revenue growth. Working at our Vancouver, BC office, you’ll tackle the merchandising and placement of products for our core retailer E-Commerce sites. You’ll also be involved with identifying and bringing to market new design and content opportunities through the PNI Platform, as well as creating closer connections and aligning goals between product development and marketing efforts at PNI. Specific areas of responsibility include:

Product Content

  • Develop a content marketing strategy for each client that adds value and reaches the appropriate audience

  • Create content schedules that coincide with seasonal campaigns and product launches for 8 PNI clients simultaneously

  • Establish a content strategy and partnerships with designers and fulfillment vendors

  • Increase transaction sales revenue by introducing new content for the existing products on the already-established platform; develop and grow additional revenue streams for PNI through product content offering

  • Source new themes and templates for existing and potential new products; identify product and design trends and opportunities in the marketplace for the PNI platform and its clients

  • Work closely with the product management team and align the content strategy with the roadmap to bring the recommendations to market

  • Work closely with the reporting and data analysis teams to monitor and observe product purchase trends

  • Create KPI's for merchandising revenue streams and new opportunities

Merchandising

  • Manage the display and merchandising of products on the site to ensure that the right products and the newest designs are properly displayed and promoted

  • Ensure that marketing assets are featuring the right content, category and product displays are up-to-date, and product descriptions are current

  • Work closely together with the product management team to recommend improvements and upgrades to the merchandising of products through product display, filtering, sorting, searching, and category management tools

  • Work with the Marketing Manager and Account Managers to develop and execute online marketing campaigns for PNI clients that introduce and promote new and existing products, raise awareness, and generate sales

Qualifications and Skills

  • Marketing Degree/ Diploma

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Marketing role

  • 2+ years’ E-Commerce retail merchandising experience

  • Fundamental knowledge of digital marketing, including customer acquisition strategies, content strategy, email marketing and social media marketing

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices, and Google Analytics.

  • Proven experience in contributing to revenue, conversions and key performance metrics through merchandising and content marketing initiatives

  • Strong presentation skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Strong attention to detail and extremely organized
