We’re looking for someone who can be a core contributor in creating innovative costumer-facing applications that solve complex business challenges for our partners. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has extensive experience leading UX and UI design decisions for multiple projects, is a detail-oriented problem solver, has a passion for user-centered design, and has a clear understanding of business goals.
The role requires a strong balance of visual design work alongside critical thinking skills. We are looking for someone who can clearly frame a problem, collaborate to establish goals for success, develop UX and UI strategy, and iterate on solutions for multiple projects. This person will carry out research and use data to inform and support their design decisions. The Senior Product Designer will collaborate and build strong relationships with members of the product, marketing, development, support, analytics and QA teams to ensure they take all areas of expertise into consideration.
This is still a hands-on position, you’ll be taking ownership of simultaneous multiple projects and leading 1 or 2 designers in the team.
What You’ll Do:
Advocate for, and execute, user-centered design
Collaborate with the Product Design Lead and Product Managers to plan the design process during a product’s lifecycle
Offer insights that help define the long-term vision, the MVP, and the project’s scope
Communicate and collaborate closely with product managers (both in house and remote) and development teams on how to best intersect business and user goals
Plan and conduct qualitative research and quantitative analysis to inform design decisions
Create rapid iterations that present many solutions to a design problem and show different approaches
Establish a strong visual hierarchy, a cohesive layout, clear navigations and interactions with an emphasis on following Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
Lead the production user flows, wireframes, comps, prototypes, and other design artifacts throughout a product’s lifecycle
Build and reuse UI components from our existing library
Create and maintain UI pattern libraries and design systems
Deliver pixel-perfect design, whether it is conceptual design, high-fidelity mockups or presentations
Play an integral role in large projects, taking them on independently with the ability to prioritize and assign tasks as needed
Divide tasks into action items with time estimates
Define and articulate design decisions and processes openly and clearly, regardless of the audience
Lead design thinking activities and design reviews
Review the work produced by fellow designers
Assist the Product Design Lead in planning activities and design sprints for the team
Focus on continuous education and skills development
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Diploma/Degree in Interaction Design or Digital Arts
4+ years’ demonstrated experience in leading UX and UI design in web and multimedia software applications
Portfolio and/or experience designing and shipping mobile and web products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for microcopy
Experience with the e-commerce UX design patterns
Ability to apply user-centric design principles and design thinking methodologies during a product’s lifecycle
Previous experience using Agile in a design team- Familiar with SAFe framework is a bonus
Extensive experience designing products that comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
Expertise in Information Architecture and Content Strategy
Proven experience in planning and conducting user research
Proven use of analytics and data that informed design decisions
Advanced knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch
Expertise with prototyping tools, i.e. InVision, Axure
Knowledge of HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JQuery
Must be able to work as a team or independently
Ability to stay on top of current trends — or ideally, be in front of them
Exceptional communication and presentation skills in English
Able to maintain strong rapport with teammates and stakeholders from multiple business groups both in house and remote
Extensive experience leading and mentoring other designers
Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
