It’s been another wonderful year here at PNI and as it comes to an end, we’d like to look back at some of the high points. There’s been plenty of growth, with new faces joining every department of the PNI family and new starters from all over the world. We’ve worked hard, we’ve worked together, and our efforts have paid off with results we can all be proud of. But PNI isn’t just about the work we produce. Everything we do at PNI is defined by our five core values:
Orange: We before me.
Green: Leave it in a better place.
Red: Move fast, plan well.
Blue: Fueled by passion and fun.
Purple: Our partners, our business.
With no little thanks to our Culture Club, fueled by passion and fun plays an ever-greater part in what defines PNI. With clubs and competitions, team-building days, parties and regular celebrations from all the cultures represented at PNI, we grow together and work together as a unit.
FEBRUARY
We started the year off on a sweet note, showing that we valued each other with Valentines Day goodie grams and rocking an impressive array of pink shirts in support of anti-bullying week.
MARCH:
In March we launched our Empower Committee for the year and got our creative caps on for International Women’s Day, where we auctioned off an array of staff-made art. St Patrick’s Day saw the PNI family get its craic on in style, and our PNI Ski Club carved up the slopes every Friday at Cypress Mountain.
JUNE:
As the weather got hotter, so did our taste buds as we battled it out in a spicy noodle contest. Seven contestants competed to see who could eat two bowls of insanely spicy noodles in an epic race.
JULY:
They say you make some of your best memories in flip flops and we certainly made ours at the annual Summer Party.
AUGUST:
In August we proved the power of teamwork, as the PNI softball season came to an end with our team finishing 1st in our division. We relaunched our Mission & Values Day at Science World with giant Jenga and dragon boating and embodied our second value leave it in a better place with a big shoreline clean-up! To round it off we celebrated Pride with an office bake sale with all proceeds going to Qmunity.
SEPTEMBER:
We all shared a lunchtime byte for Programmers Day, and on Mexican Independence Day we bonded over delicious food and a PNI piñata!
OCTOBER:
Our most anticipated time of the year, October means the annual Halloween contest! The pumpkins were scare-tastic and everyone brought their A-game to compete for best individual costume, group costume and dog costume.
For Diwali we grew together and celebrated each other’s culture with music, samosas, mango juice and beautiful henna painting. A big month for PNI parties, October also saw us celebrate one of our most successful events to date: Brazilian Day (Festa Junina). We were certainly fueled by passion and fun in a day full of music, food, dancing and egg races.
DECEMBER:
We finished the year on a high with our annual Town Hall at the Cinema. With speeches, videos and plenty of high fives, we all came to appreciate how the work we do together as a team benefits us all. To follow this, we had the big event of the year: the PNI Holiday Party saw inspiring speeches, amazing prizes and most of the PNI family making shapes on the dance floor. To round it all off we had the PNI Pancake Breakfast, where employees were served breakfast and festive drinks by the PNI management team to the sound of our favorite holiday tunes.
Overall it’s been a terrific year here at PNI and we leave it in a better place ready for a great 2020.
